Off we go into the woods...
Reindeer prancing about...
Moments of genuine affection not always seen...
A beautiful pine the same age as my middle child...
No longer need their Papa to lift them up...(sigh)
It's past their bedtime, with no regrets,
just more memories to add to an already wonderful life...

Beautiful and dang it if your family isn't perfect!
Wonderful pics. for the photo album that depicts your family life. I love it!
Love it! My favorite part of Christmas is decorating the tree with my kids :)
It's nice how the entire family gets involved in the whole process. Great smiles.
The colors of the wall look like ours.
What a great post!
We can't do a real tree, unfortunately, due to allergies...however, this weekend is our "tree time" with our good ol' faker. Hey, in some things, it's ok to fake it!!!
We're doing the same thing after work today.
Awesome memories.
Coniferous trees are a little hard to come by in my neck of the woods (pun intended). I could decorate a miniature palm tree or a eucalyptus tree?
Anyway, love sharing in your tradition. We'll be putting up our old faithful tree-in-a-box, even though we won't be here for Christmas (because we'll be in *Fiji*--insert jazz hands here)
Beautiful tree... wonderful family.
What great memories for the kids, and a gorgeous tree!
This is so cool! I love photoblogs!!! I'll probably take my tree out of the box this weekend.
What a beautiful tree! But even more beautiful are the memories you created.
I love seeing photos of you w/ your fam! Looks like you had a fun time!
Talk about the perfect family!
A family that picks out the Christmas tree and decorates it togethter, stays together!! lol
You picked a good one! We're cutting ours this weekend....best day of the year!
Love it..and the family pics are SO cute.
what a great tree! thanks for taking us along for the fun!
I just realized how much your daughter looks like you. I really miss the days of having the kids around and excited about Christmas. It really is a trade off...I get to do my tree, my way...but, I'd give anything to have my kids both home and all of us together for Christmas. We will go to Florida to be with my daughter (at Disney, you work Christmas Day) and my parents. My son will stay in Illinois and go to his girlfriend's (sort of) and be with her and their 2 little ones. My sister will have her Christmas with 3 of her 4 kids home. We used to all be together, I really miss it, but what to do...these kids grow up!

Oh, what a sweet post.
Wonderful pictures, thank you for sharing them with us.
It is so sweet to see two brothers in such loving embrace. Every time I see my boys like that it just melts my heart.
brave, brave mom letting the kiddos hold on to the saw in the company of each other.
on a serious note - thank you for sharing your family tradition. It is always nice to see how beautiful your family is, both on the inside and out!
Very nice. Great way to start the holiday season as a family.
I love the Christmas tree story in pictures. Thanks for sharing your special time with us.
You guys look like a tv family. And the tree is pretty, too.
Those are all wonderful pictures!! Not to mention the great memories had by the whole family :)
Lovely family, lovely tree. You should be on a reality show - I'm tired of dysfunction.....watching your family would be a treat. It would help people out there who must think Jon and Kate types are the norm....
That looks like fun! Where do you do that...I want to try it! Beautiful tree...beautiful family! Sweet memories!

All Christmas trees have their own particular beauty, but the old-fashioned cut it down yourself and dress it with ornaments collected over the life of a family? That's my favorite.
You did a great job here, Holly. I wish you would write more. I keep telling you, you have a gift. Don't waste it.
Love it! Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Looks like the beginning of a wonderful holiday season.
Merry Christmas!
Hi, girls! I stepped away from blogging for a little while, and just today saw that you gave me some bling last week! You're the nicest!
However, your organized Christmas preparations are bringing me down, man! I was feeling good that I finally got rid of the Halloween pumpkins. I'd better get it into Christmas gear!

Beautiful pictures! It looks like everyone is having a great time.
We get our tree two weeks before Christmas, so we still have a little longer to wait.
OMG, my heart is melting over that pic of the munchkins with their arms around each other!
something 4 u over at my place today!
that tree is huge...and awesome! i love it. can't wait to have a bigger house so i can kick this charlie brown tree we've got going on...
O Christmas Tree O Christmas Tree, what a lovely, family.....
Oh well, trying to rhyme. Your family is beautiful and so is your tree. My daughter was able to put her star on the top of the tree this year with the help of just a step ladder. She was so happy! Simple joys!
I love the fact that your kids are holding a saw in their "moment of rare affection" photo!! LOL : )
Nothing like sharp tools to bring a smile to their faces!
It's like the photos I take of my girls where they are grinning at the camera while holding each other in a headlock!
Beautiful tree and memories... my kids aren't really into decorating the tree with me anymore... they love to hang a few ornaments here and there but that is it and then they are off... if only to go back in time where i would have to rearrange all that they put on...
Blog Hopping and found ya...
Happy Holidays!
This is my first visit here, and I like sharing in your hunt for the tree, and the tree trimming with your kids. The tree looks so sparkly and joyful.
that is so nice! we used to go out and cut our own christmas tree but we don't live near an area where we can do that anymore...i miss that!
stopping by from 365 days to happiness...to say happy name day!
Beautiful tree! Wonderful tradition! We do the same thing each year. It's one of my favorite parts of the whole season.
