So, there is a lady in town that picks out the nits. Costs a fortune and takes hours, but so worth it. Also, lice like clean hair....Just tell Charisse to tell her mom that!

Also, Circle of Friends..can get it online..has lice prevention stuff...it's awesome and smells good. They have a leave in spray/conditioner. My daughter uses it everyday after her shower to brush her hair.

My daughter's school sent a letter home yesterday about this and said to watch out for them because there have been several cases there. We've never had to deal with them and I pray we don't ever have to!

ugh! The dreaded lice! My daughter had it in Kindergarten and I agree that it is hours upon endless hours of cleaning, washing, picking, combing, and on and on. No joke!
Then there was the group of snitty moms that took it upon themselves to pass judgement on which child they felt was responsible for the infestation of the Grade K girls. Really? Really?

I was going to say, "So, you've MET my mother — I'm sorry," when it clicked you were referring to your Mom's Dirty People Decree. Either we're long-lost sisters, or our mothers took the same parenting lessons ... hmmmm — I was born in San Francisco ...

Lice doesn't seem to like my kids. Even with infested school they are always lice-free, but it loves my BFF girls.

I do tell my boys to wash their hair only twice a week, because lice love clean hair like Lee mentioned. Something about the oil in the scalp.

I forgot to tell you to stop by my place and pick up an award I have for you ladies.

We haven't had lice come a knockin' at our house yet (knock wood), but I'm sure our time will come eventually. It's always good to have helpful info at the ready, so thanks!

p.s. my gals wash their hair every other day...hoping that helps keep lice at bay!

When I was a kid, our neighbors had lice--big time!! Everytime they would come over to play, you could see the lice just crawling all over her hair. Mom would not let them inside the house or use our stuff at all.

She took all these precautions and we still got lice. We used RID.

EWW, when Aiven got lice a few years ago I couldn't deal with it, I called my mother in law over to help. *shudders* Even thinking about it makes my head itch! I think I have PTSD concerning a traumatic lice event from my childhood: I went in for a perm when I was 12 (that's another therapy session right there!) and they discovered my friend and I had lice. It sucked.

I'll never forget the call over the announcements in school "Will bus 35 please report to the nurses office?" Yep, time to get a nit check :)

What a good friend, she even got her hair near yours before she declared you nit free!

The dreaded head lice! Every year they send a letter home from school when the first case appears. Seriously, where do these things come from? We've never had to deal with them at our house (knock on wood) and I hope that trend continues!

I love the husband hair search technique. It's terrible. What a way to end the vid. LOL

Geez, what a process! No wonder they spread like wildfire.

I'm itching just listening

I had to laugh. I think Holly stopped by my blog on the day I had pictures of my kids during one of the nit picking day! We tried mayo.

And the cleaning around the house...and the car! We read about having to vacuum and wash the car.

Never, never, never want to do it again!

My mom was definitely like Charisse's mom....and then my sister got lice. It was such a scarring experience, that they both now deal with it by remembering the incident as ME being the one with lice, because, well, I was never quite as perfect, good, dare we even say, tame? as my sister...yeah, fun times :)

For some reason, my laptop does not play your videos so I can only guess what you have to say. :( Anyway, we have been through this, twice. Washing, washing and more washing!

I remember the school nurse coming into the classroom with a big light and looking at everyone's head. A smell a lawsuit if that happened now! "Knock on wood" we have not ever had a visit from he little creatures!

I have told that Suave coconut shampoo and conditioner will repel them. I don't know if it works or not.

Ugh! I have EXTREMELY thick hair. MASSIVELY thick. Lice is like in my top ten worst fears.

My sister's oldest daughter is only 9 years younger than me. When she was 4, she got lice at preschool. Guess who got it from her???

It took my mom like a week to get all of the nits out of my hair. Why? Because that stupid little comb that comes with the lice shampoo? Yeah...that one. My EXTREMELY MASSIVE hair kept breaking the teeth in the comb. At the end of the whole experience, my mom and sister were using their fingernail to pull the little boogers fromy my hair. It was not pretty.

So, yeah...lice is not a pretty subject around me. LOL!

One of the girls I work with had her husband ring up recently to say the school had rung him and they'd found nits in a classmates hair. He had no intention of doing anything about it, just rang her because he knew she go and get him and give his hair a good washing with all thing nit killing.

It takes just one kid in an elementary school classroom to have them and, without warning, they go from kid to kid.

Your video was hysterical!!
